Judith speaks about:

I lost over 5 stone and My IBS symptoms were gone within two weeks. My blood pressure has gone from high to now, a normal level and my eating habits have completely changed

Deborah Hunt speaks about:

My life has been completely transformed. My asthma is dormant and my blood pressure is now under control. I am so close now to losing 5 stone and I am now buying size 12 clothes instead of size 24. I didn't think this would work for me, but this has been the best decision ever.

Denny Phillips speaks about:

Suffered a spinal cord stroke, leaving with no sensation below the waist and legs that could barely hold me up and diagnosed with lupus. Day after day I would wake up and feel the same but now I am standing without assistance and waking every day feeling better than the last. I am squatting and losing weight, I am more mobile than ever, and I am happy again.

A letter From Our Founder

My name is Alex and I run an empathy lead self development team of Dietitians, Nutritionists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Personal Trainers and Behaviour change coaches who specialise in SUSTAINABLE weight loss. As Seen on Lose Weight Like Me, Commissioned by Channel 4.

Over the last 20 years we have helped over 4,500 women in the UK and Ireland lose weight sustainably, get promoted, have more energy, be around for their grandkids, get out of abusive relationships and even walk again after being wheelchair bound.

So I want to cut all the BS right from the start. Injections, spices, herbs, hot lemon water, apple cider vinegar, magic pills and potions don’t “Jump Start” your metabolism

We’re taking a stand against the myths, gimmicks and charlatans preaching unsafe or unsustainable methods. The ONLY thing that increases your metabolism is a structured and correctly programmed resistance training routine (in your own home if you’re short on time)

If you have struggled to put yourself first and want to hold onto your mobility, health and independence in just 2 hours a week

Or even if you just want to travel with confidence and be here for your family then this will be the most important letter the you’ll will read all year!

Here’s why…

Once you hit Menopause, hormonal changes lead to your metabolism hitting the floor so the goal posts change...it get’s harder

You lose that half a stone, get stay stuck in a plateau and then regain the weight and so the cycle continues

That's why having an evidence based toolkit can be the difference between losing “some weight” or losing all of it SUSTAINABLY

And that's exactly why we give you inside of the our sustainable weight loss support group.

Your Questions Answered

What do I need to do before my Complimentary Fat Loss & Dietary Assessment Call to get the most out of it?

+

The short answer is: if you maintain communication with us, it's virtually impossible to fail. Unlike cookie-cutter programs, everything we do is dynamic. We have a full multidisciplinary team of experts who can adjust our approach based on your feedback, finding exactly what works for your lifestyle, commitments, preferences and time budget. Many solutions only address 20% of the problem by addressing this using a multi-faceted approach which involves behavior change, fixing a slow metabolism, and showing you your blind spots - and things you're not seeing - sustainable weightloss becomes doable, but most importantly sustainable. We tackle the root causes - emotional eating, hormonal changes, sleep issues, self-sabotage patterns, and more. This comprehensive approach is why our results are sustainable where others have failed.

I've got a million things going on right now—do I really have time to do this?

+

There are 168 hours in a week - we're asking for about 3 hours of focused attention. That's reasonable, isn't it? Contrary to popular belief, sustainable weight loss doesn't require hours in the gym or endless meal prep. We've helped single mothers with four children under five, 10-hour workdays, and long commutes achieve their goals. In fact, having a busy life is actually beneficial to our approach. Anyone can lose weight when life is perfectly calm. We teach you how to lose weight sustainably while navigating real-life challenges. That's the only way to make results last.

How do I know that now is the right time to start my weight loss journey?

+

The truth is you don't but you have 3 options... Accept our weight will never change, leading to a smaller life with potential joint problems, pain, and becoming a burden to your family. Putting it off until later, leads to greater fear of failure, so psychologically, it appears like a bigger mountain that we have to climb. Physiologically, due to age related muscle loss and hormonal changes, it also becomes more difficult. A lot of people don't recognize is that—even if we don't have joint or health problems now—when we consider how many minutes of our life has been taken up, when we consider how much headspace in our life has been taken up thinking about our weight or what to wear, we begin to realise it's had more of an impact on us than we first thought. Because the best time to start was yesterday, and the second best time is right now.

How fast will I see results—and are they actually sustainable?

+

We specialize in sustainable weight loss, not quick-fix weight loss. So if you're looking for a quick fix to lose a stone a week, we are not the right fit. Our average weight loss in the first 7 days is 2–4 pounds, along with visible changes in your photographs by week 4. However, the mindset reprogramming will not happen overnight. If we do not address the underlying behaviours that have led to these struggles, then the result will not be sustainable. Most people are unaware of the current behaviours that are leading to their weight struggles - for example: downplaying the problem, trivialising it, or saying things like "It's not that bad" or "I know what I need to do." And perhaps, sometimes, we forget that things which worked in the past stop working as we get older. So we go around in that cycle - continuing to try what used to work, but no longer does, or isn't sustainable. Other psychological struggles include fear of failure, procrastination, not putting ourselves first, and a variety of behavioural patterns that will not be addressed with the simple "eat less, move more" advice — which never addresses the root cause of the problem.

How does your approach compare to Weight Watchers, Slimming World, or working with a personal trainer?

+

Slimming groups like Weight Watchers are currently experiencing financial difficulties because their model sells products rather than sustainable solutions. Their business model depends on you returning repeatedly which means they set it up in a way that you fail and are forced to come back to restart from square one. Personal trainers typically address only about 20% of the weight loss problem. If it were as simple as "eat less, move more," there wouldn't be so many people struggling. The approach has to be multifaceted and comprehensive. There's a huge difference between losing weight temporarily and losing it sustainably. This is why we have dietitians, nutritionists, psychologists, sleep specialists, physiotherapists, who address blind spots that most people can't see such such as injury history, medications, boredom eating, comfort eating, hormonal changes, self-sabotage patterns and more. If we do work together, we can provide ongoing support, so you never have to face these challenges alone again.

I already have a personal trainer, take weight loss medication, or follow another plan—can this still help me?

+

Absolutely. Many of our clients maintain relationships with their PTs while recognizing that training only addresses about 20% of sustainable weight loss. Our strength and conditioning coach and physiotherapist actually train personal trainers, so we can help you gain more from your current PT relationship. This can be done discreetly to ensure that you continue to maintain a strong relationship with your PT. Regarding weight loss medication, our advice is personalized based on your specific situation. We'll discuss the pros and cons of your current approach, allowing you to make informed decisions. Our ultimate goal is for you not to need medication long-term, focusing instead on building healthy, sustainable habits. We don't want you taking medication or injecting yourself for the rest of your life.

I only want to lose a stone - is your program still appropriate for me?

+

Your happiness is not less important than somebody else's. The last stone is also the hardest to lose because weight loss is never a straight line. What's got you to where you are now is unlikely to get you to where you want to be. The body gets used to the stimulus. If we don't make appropriate, correct, and personalised adjustments, there'll be more muscle loss, and then you'll regain the weight you've already lost. So what's crucial here is that it's done correctly. And after you lose the final stone, you will notice that your goals change. People then often want to be stronger, which is essential if staying independent for the next 20–30 years is important to you.

I'm already feeling overwhelmed with life - how will your program fit in without adding stress?

+

Stress management is a skill set. It's not a character trait. Learning how to overcome overwhelm is also a skill set. This is why we have an entire mindset team, and a team of psychologists. If we can improve your psychological capacity to be able to compartmentalize daily stresses in a more effective way, it means not only will you achieve more, get more done, but you'll be happier. Because when we're overwhelmed and stressed, we can feel like it's just one thing after another. And very soon, you'll recognize that what we do is, put simply, a hell of a lot more than just sustainable weight loss.

Why should I trust The Sustainable Change team?

+

Alex is a registered dietitian who, along with his multidisciplinary team, has helped over 4,000 women lose weight sustainably. For us, trust is everything. We understand that many people struggle to trust because they've been burned in the past or have been taught to be skeptical. But not trusting is actually a form of self-sabotage - it prevents you from getting the help you need. Our track record speaks for itself. Our core value is instilling belief - even above care - because we can't help clients who don't believe change is possible. If you say "I can't do this," you'll always be right. But we're here to show you that you can.

Do I really need help, or can I do this on my own?

+

If you're achieving 100% of the results you want, then you don't need help. But if you're beginning to realize that weight loss gets harder as you age, that the goalposts keep changing, and that the last stone is the hardest to lose - then yes, you benefit from a dietary assessment to see where you've been going wrong. Asking for help isn't weakness — it's a strength. Humility is a superpower. Being humble enough to be a student means that not only do we say "every day is a school day," but then our actions correlate with the statement. Continuing to learn and grow doesn't just help you — it helps those around you. You have more knowledge and, most importantly, more up-to-date and current knowledge. Even for us as a team, what we recommend now is very different to what we recommended two years ago. We all know the definition of insanity — it's doing the same things and expecting different results. Nothing changes. Time is our most valuable resource. The last thing we want is for you to put this off for six months or a year, and have more time feeling frustrated or annoyed that despite your best efforts, you're not getting the results that you want. One of our core values is kindness and care. And we'd appreciate, when speaking to us, if you gave us the same respect we're going to give you.

Why am I receiving multiple communications before my scheduled call?

+

We put everything into the people that we help. Absolutely everything. And when call slots are limited, we want to ensure that you get the most out of your call and are fully prepared for it. We will have put in a significant amount of time to diagnosing your problem areas, blind spots, and where you're stuck. And we certainly don't want that to go to waste. When we break promises to ourself, it reduces our self-worth. We're saying, subconsciously, "I am less important than someone or something else." If we can teach you to keep promises to yourself — keep your commitments — you'll notice that when we break this down into small, digestible steps, it minimises overwhelm. And most importantly, you enjoy the process.
